Engineering
For over 20 years, we have developed and perfected the engineering systems we use in our boats today.
We test and evaluate all the components used within the boat. These include plumbing, heating, lighting and the 12/240 volt electrical systems. By doing this we ensure that not only do individual components give good service but that all components work efficiently when integrated within the boat.
A typical example is our choice of propulsion engines.
In modern boats, we use the Beta 43 engine exclusively. Being very powerful, smooth and quiet, it is well suited to both canal and river work.
In engine rooms we can use Lister JP2's and JP3's which we have refurbished ourselves. However, more often now we use the Beta JD3 tug engine which performs well at low revs by modern engine standards and has an appeal with the abundance of exposed brass and copper to polish!
We do not change components for the sake of change or fashion, neither are we blinkered to new developments. But we continually strive to perfect our systems and advance technology. With this knowledge and expertise, we can advise on the most appropriate equipment for your individual usage.
